The NFL and the Cowboys could be facing another domestic violence controversy.

Tiffany Thompson, the ex-girlfriend of prized Dallas rookie Ezekiel Elliott, posted photos Friday on her Instagram account of bruises and filed a police report in Columbus, Ohio, accusing the running back of hitting her while she was in a parked car. Elliott was not arrested or charged, and the alleged victim was referred to Prosecutor’s Office.

Elliott reportedly denied the allegations to police, and his father denounced the accusation as “completely false.”

According to the Dallas Morning-News, Elliott claims Thompson’s injuries were a result of her being in a bar fight. A police spokesman told the paper that it was a “he said, she said” case.

One of Thompson’s Instagram posts shows a woman inside a vehicle, while the other set of images appears to be taken indoors. Thompson tagged Elliott in one of the two posts. She later deleted the posts and made her Instagram account private.

“Just for every women out there getting abused it’s time to put a stop to it,” Thompson wrote on Instagram. “This has been happening to me for months and it finally got out of control to where I was picked up and thrown across the room by my arms. Thrown into walls. Being choked to where I have to gasp for breath.

“Bruised everywhere, mentally and physically abused. It’s not okay. So I want each and everyone one of you girls to step away now from domestic violence. You’re worth so much more. I got told it was called ‘tough love’ I’m sorry if you love someone you don’t touch your loved ones.”

TMZ reported the cops spoke to four witnesses — including one who was in the car during the alleged incident — who did not back up Thompson’s claims.

TMZ also obtained the audio from Thompson’s 911 call. She says “he’s been doing it for the past five days,” and had hit her “all over.” Thompson says she doesn’t need medical attention. She asks that a police officer be sent to her home, and she is outside at the moment, with Elliott inside.

Elliott’s father, Stacy Elliott, said in a statement his son is innocent and has been cooperating with the police and NFL.

“The reported allegations and Internet postings regarding our son are completely false,” he said. “Ezekiel has done nothing wrong. The police have investigated this matter and eyewitnesses have verified the lack of any wrongdoing. The actual evidence in this matter clearly indicates what the real motivation was behind the police being called. We are confident that when the truth comes to light it will reveal the falsity of these claims.”

A source told the Morning-News the Cowboys believe the accusations are suspect and perhaps related to Elliott threatening to end the relationship.

The Cowboys faced scrutiny last season for signing Greg Hardy after he missed the 2014 season after being accused of attacking an ex-girlfriend. Hardy remains a free agent this offseason after the Cowboys opted not to re-sign him.

Elliott was the fourth overall pick in the NFL Draft by the Cowboys after rushing for more than 1,800 yards in each of the past two seasons at Ohio State and scoring a combined 41 touchdowns. He helped the Buckeyes win a national championship after the 2014 season.
