It has been quite a 24 hours for Brock Purdy, with the last pick in the NFL draft leading the San Francisco 49ers to a stunning win over Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Purdy had the dubious distinction of being dubbed “Mr. Irrelevant” after he was the last pick of the last NFL draft, leaving him as third-choice quarterback at the 49ers.

Injuries have thrust the rookie into the spotlight and on Sunday he had a debut to remember after leading the 49ers to a crushing 35-7 win over the Buccaneers.

Purdy completed 14 of 18 passes for 185 yards and two touchdowns without a turnover, as he deputized for Trey Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo, who are both out with season-ending injuries.

The post-game celebrations brought a heartwarming embrace between Purdy and his emotional parents as well as a hug and a kiss from volleyball star Jenna Brandt.

This led to many questioning on social media whether the new 49ers star was married and who is Brandt and what is their relationship.

After the 22-year-old had the game of his life, the attention was turning to Jenna Brandt, who he appears to be in a long-term relationship with.

There haven’t been wedding bells as yet but it would seem that the couple are deeply in love, with Brandt sharing a number of heartwarming pics of them both.

Brandt plays as a setter on University of Northern Iowa’s volleyball team and has shared a number of photos of her playing.

At the beginning of the year, she shared a snap of her in UNI’s colors, and captioned the pic: “A dream come true to wear this jersey. i cannot thank UNI enough for this life changing experience.

“Volleyball: it’s the people that make the game. my teammates make it worthwhile, make me work hard, and make me laugh in any (serious or not) situation.

“Thank you to every single person who has crossed my path through this journey that took turns, but each step was for a reason.”

Last month, she posted a series of snaps of her and Purdy on her family’s farm in which she poses with her arms wrapped around her boyfriend.

She captioned one pic of them standing in a field with a tractor behind: “My roots and my boy.”

Purdy then commented underneath: “My girl!”

This led to some very impressed comments, with one telling Brandt, a kinesiology major from Sumner, Iowa: “No way you’re dating THE BROCK PURDY.”

The 262nd and last pick of the 2022 NFL Draft has had a telling season, helping inspire the 49ers to a 33-17 win over the Dolphins last time out, after replacing Garoppolo, before victory in his first pro start.

His touchdown pass to Kyle Juszczyk was the first regular season score ever thrown by a “Mr. Irrelevant”.

After the game, he celebrated the win against NFL legend Brady and said it was a “dream come true.”

He told FOX: “It’s crazy. I grew up watching him, seeing him make plays and win Super Bowls.

“So, to be out on the same field and being able to compete against one another, it’s literally a dream come true.

“Very blessed, and I’m honored to play against him.”
